KIDS BJJ
Confidence starts on the mats
ABOUT THIS CLASS
Kids BJJ at Francis Jiu Jitsu is structured for children aged 3 to 15. Every class is designed to build coordination, discipline, respect and core Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques in a safe, supervised environment. There is no striking in BJJ, which makes it one of the safest martial arts for young people.
Younger kids learn through games-based activities that develop balance, spatial awareness and teamwork without them even realising they are training. Older kids progress into more technique-focused sessions with partner drills, positional sparring and structured problem-solving on the mats.
Beyond the physical skills, BJJ teaches kids how to handle pressure, stay calm under stress and treat others with respect. Many parents tell us their children become more focused, more confident and better at managing emotions after just a few weeks of training.
WHAT A TYPICAL CLASS LOOKS LIKE
50 minutes. Four phases. Maximum fun.
10 MINUTES
FUN WARM-UP GAMES
Tag games, animal walks, obstacle courses and movement challenges. Kids warm up their bodies while laughing and building friendships with their training partners.
20 MINUTES
TECHNIQUE OF THE DAY
The coach introduces one or two age-appropriate techniques. Kids pair up and practise with guided partner drills. Every step is demonstrated clearly and repeated until they feel comfortable.
15 MINUTES
GAMES & POSITIONAL SPARRING
Structured games and light positional sparring that let kids apply what they have learned. Always supervised, always safe, always fun. Winning and losing are both part of the learning.
5 MINUTES
COOL-DOWN & CHAT
Stretching, high-fives and a group chat about what they learned. The coach reinforces positive behaviour and celebrates effort over results.
